ਸ਼ੁਭ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ੁਭ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਭਰਮ

ਸਾਡੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ੁਭ ਦਿਨਾਂ (ਘੜੀਆਂ ਪਲਾਂ) ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਹਿਮ ਜਾਂ ਭਰਮ ਪਾਲ਼ ਰੱਖੇ ਹਨ॥ ਇਹ ਵਹਿਮ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਰਿਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਏ ਹਨ ਜੁ ਹਰ ਪਲ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਜਾਂ ਅਸ਼ੁਭ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ॥ ਸਾਡੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਵੀਰ ਹਰ ਕਾਰਜ ਲਈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਵਿਆਹ, ਮੰਗਣਾ, ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਉਪਾਰ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨਾ, ਨਵਾਂ ਘਰ, ਕਾਰ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਹੋਰ ਮਹਿੰਗੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮਹੂਰਤ ਕਢਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਰਹੇਗਾ॥ ਪ੍ਰੋਹਤ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਕੁਝ ਗਿਣਤੀਆਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਜਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਮਹੂਰਤ ਦੱਸ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਉਹ ਜਜਮਾਨਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਕਮ ਵਸੂਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਧਿਰਾਂ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ॥ ਪਰ ਸੋਚਣ ਵਾਲ਼ੀ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਮਹੂਰਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ॥ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਵੀਰ ਮਹੂਰਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਵਿਆਹ ਦੀ ਰਸਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥ ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਆਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਦਰ ਮਹੂਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਵਿਆਹਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ॥ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਉਹ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮ੍ਹੁਰਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥

Many people believe that the advances in science put a question mark on the existence of God (or Waheguru).  Many people even ask me that how I can have such a strong faith in the existence of God when I hold two PhD degrees including one in Chemistry. They do not realize that the more we discover about the nature and its laws, the more we are impressed by the ways the nature is working and stronger becomes the faith in Waheguru Who has created such a wonderful universe.

ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਦੀ ਲੱਖ ਲੱਖ ਵਧਾਈ ਹੋਵੇ

1699 ਦੇ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਦੀ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ

ਆਉ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਮ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੋ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ (ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ) ਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਸਮਝ ਲਈਏ॥

ਵਧਾਈ: ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਅਵਸਰ ਤੇ ਵਧਾਈ ਦੇਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਆਮਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਉੱਤਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ: ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਵਧੋ ਜਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵਧਾਏ॥ਸੋ, ਵਧਾਈ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ “ਵਾਧਾ” ਹੀ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥ ਪਰ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਪਾਵਨ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਧਾਈ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਵਾਧਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਹੈ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਜਾਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ॥ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਖੇ ਪਾਵਨ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਇਸ ਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥

Martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji

Scene: The court of the Nawab of Sarhind, Wazir Khan. It is a very cold mid-morning of Dec. 28, 1705. The court is full of high officials and some prominent citizens of Sarhind. Most of them seem to be sad and nervous, but a few seem to be excited. They are all awaiting the arrival of the Nawab anxiously because an extremely important and historical decision is going to be made about the two younger Princes – Sahibzada Zorawar Singh aged eight and Sahibzada Fateh Singh aged 6 – of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The Princes along with their grandmother, Mata Goojri Ji, got separated from Guru Sahib and the rest of the family after Guru Sahib had left Anandpur Sahib at the assurance of the joint armies of the Emperor Aurangzeb, and the Hindu Rajas of the hill states that if Guru Sahib vacated Anandpur Sahib, He would be free to live with dignity anywhere in the Country without any interference from the Governments. But the evil and immoral armies began to chase Guru Sahib soon after He had left, and attacked Him near Ropar (Roop Nagar) on the bank of the swollen Sirsa River. Because of the unsuspected attack by the enemy, everybody rushed to escape. Mata Goojri Ji, the mother of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the younger Princes were tricked by their 22 years-long chef, Gungoo, to go with him to his village, Kherri near Ropar.
